Orphée
by Christoph Willibald Gluck
The program included the best known arias and ensemble pieces from this beloved opera. In Gluck’s hands, the epic Greek tragedy of Orpheus and Euridice escapes from the demons of the Underworld into the sunshine of a happy ending.
The first performance of Orphée was an intimate house concert on December 15, 2016, in New York City.
